Portlock License Manager Asian language support

Introduction

Portlock License Manager supports displaying its interface in a number of languages including Chinese and Japanese. To display Asian languages on Windows XP, the Asian language fonts need to be installed. This document demonstrates how to install Asian language support on Windows XP.

Note: Windows Vista and Windows 7 normally have the Asian fonts already installed and do not require installation of language packs in order for Portlock License Manager to display its interface in Chinese or Japanese.

System requirements

  • Windows XP
  • Windows XP installation media. This is required to additional fonts.
  • Portlock License Manager

Quick start

  1. Launch the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Select "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options."
  3. Select "Add other languages."
  4. Select "Languages" tab.
  5. Select "Install files for East Asian languages."
  6. Click OK and then accept rebooting the system.
  7. Upon reboot Portlock License Manager will be able to display Chinese or Japanese.
  8. Start Portlock License Manager. From the "File" menu, select Language » Chinese or Japanese.

Tip: Open a Command Prompt and type "start intl.cpl" to go directly to the "Regional and Language Options" program. Then proceed with step #4.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Windows Control Panel by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Control Panel."
  2. Select "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options."
  3. On the right-hand side of the Control Panel, select the icon for "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options."

  6. Select the "Install files for East Asian languages" checkbox.

  7. Click OK and then accept rebooting the system.
