Dual-booting with Portlock SMART Suite and Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 or Novell NetWare

Portlock Boot Manager is located on Portlock SMART Suite’s 'Repair' tab. Versions 5.02 and later of Portlock SMART Suite include a new Portlock utility – Portlock Boot Manager – that enables users to easily add Portlock SMART Suite as one of the boot options for a system that already has Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 or Novell NetWare installed.

Note: The language and screenshots in this document apply to NetWare. The Windows process is nearly identical, and the different screenshots and language are not included because they would create redundancy.

Portlock Boot Manager is located on Portlock SMART Suite’s "Repair" tab. Open the dual-boot wizard by expanding Portlock Boot Manager's "Boot" menu and selecting "Dual boot SMART and Netware."

Once the wizard loads, choose the source file that reflects the way you are running Portlock SMART Suite.

The wizard will then ask you where you wish to install the boot manager files. A recommended drive letter and path is given, but you may change this as you see fit.

The creation of your NetWare and Portlock SMART Suite dual-booting system will begin. Please report any errors or issues with the creation process to support@portlock.com.

After the process completes, you may reboot the system. Upon boot up you should see the following boot menu. You now have the option of booting into Netware or into Portlock SMART Suite. You no longer need a hard copy of the Portlock SMART Suite CD.
